Hello world! aka Getting to know you…

So, this is my website.  It’s not exactly my first.  My first was on the now defunct Geocities back in the late 90’s and early 00’s when I was in college.  It was in no way professional.  I might post things from it here time to time to show you what it was like.

This time is going to be a little different.  My last site, since it was intended to just be entertaining, ended up being quirky.  I’ve grown up since college (at least I think I have), so this time, things are going to be a lot more serious.  There will still be a few silly things since that’s a part of me, and one that will never go away.

I’m not going to put much about me in this first post.  You can get that information in the “About Me” section.  What I will say is that I’m going to use this site primarily to show off my writing, but I will also blog about other certain issues near and dear to my heart.  I will not be using this site to tell you about my day or the crazy things my cat did.  There will be serious, thoughtful essays and hopefully enough snatches of my work to get you interested in what I can do.

As I bring this first post to a close, I want to thank the ever wonderful TR Goodman for helping me to set up my website.  I don’t think I know what I would do without him.
